Surfactants Training Courses 2010

Posted: Wednesday, 24th February 2010

Part of the Association's strategy is the development of appropriate Training Courses, primarily for the benefit of the BACS membership.  BACS is now able to announce a series of dates and venues for its Surfactants Training Courses in 2010.

24 March - A Basic Introduction to Surfactants, Birmingham

12 May - Surfactants and Their Applications: A Brief Refresher for the Practising Surfactant Chemist, Newton Aycliffe - postponed

16 June - A Basic Introduction to Surfactants, Manchester

19 October - Formulating with Surfactants: A Practical Guide to Surfactant Formulations, Stockport

26 October - Surfactants and Their Applications: A Brief Refresher for the Practising Surfactant Chemist, Stockport

23 November -  A Basic Introduction to Surfactants, Huddersfield

25 November - A Basic Introduction to Surfactants, Watford - cancelled

The two established courses are “A Basic Introduction to Surfactants”, which is designed for non-chemists or chemists with little knowledge of surfactant technology, and “Surfactants and Their Applications - A Brief Refresher for the Practising Surfactant Chemist”. The latter is a more advanced course and requires some basic knowledge of surfactants.

A further course "Formulating with Surfactants: A Practical Guide to Surfactant Formulations" is in preparation and will be available by autumn 2010, the first course being scheduled for 19 October. This course will examine all the issues that have to be considered when formulating with surfactants and provide a practical approach to the subject, including the resolution of specific formulation issues.

BACS members are given priority when booking for a particular course but courses are also open to companies who are not BACS members at a non-members' fee. All delegates receive paper copies of the presentation at a meeting, followed by a CD of the course slides shortly afterwards.

For further information on all courses, please contact Jackie Hall at the BACS office at enquiries@bacsnet.org
