Guidance for Sustainable Cleaning

Guidance for Sustainable Cleaning. In 2006 the joint BACS/UKCPI Public Procurement Task Force published Guidance for Responsible Public Procurement of Cleaning Products. This guidance focusses on the ingredients of cleaning products. Since then the Task Force has been working to develop guidance for users of professional cleaning products on factors affecting the overall sustainability of cleaning.
A draft of this new Guidance for Sustainable Cleaning, which considers impacts at each stage of the life cycle of cleaning products from raw materials selection to use and disposal, was presented by the Task Force to the UK Chemicals Stakeholder Forum at its meeting in October. Following consideration of comments on the draft, publication of the Guidance for Sustainable Cleaning is expected early in the New Year.
