Regulatory Affairs Committee

The Regulatory Affairs Committee (RAC) provides a forum for member companies to discuss developments in UK and EU health, safety and environmental legislation affecting BACS members and, when relevant, to formulate responses to consultations and positions for lobbying. Meetings of the RAC are held quarterly. Minutes of meetings include links to regulations and consultation documents. Legislation-specific task forces, such as the REACH Task Force, are established by the committee when appropriate to monitor developments and to progress work on positions between meetings.

In addition to these activities, the RAC organises occasional conferences on topical subjects, such as the one-day meeting on the requirements of the REACH Regulation held in April 2007. Conferences are held at various venues and a charge is made for attendance. Conferences are open to companies that are not members of BACS but at a charge that is higher than the members' rate. Presentations are provided on CD ROM to delegates after each meeting and are also available at a charge to companies not able to attend.
